Statement of Beliefs

At Dominion Church we believe:

The Scriptures Inspired.  The Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God, a revelation from God to man, the infallible rule of faith and conduct, and is superior to conscience and reason. (Hebrews 4:12)

The One True Godhead.  There is one God who is sovereign in every aspect. The triune Godhead consists of The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit, who are eternally self existent, self revealed, and function as one and are one.  Jesus Christ, who is God manifested in the flesh, has the fullness of the Godhead within Him, and became the “Unblemished Sacrificial Lamb” for the purpose of redeeming lost and sinful man back to God. God is Father in His creative work, Son in His redemptive work, and The Holy Ghost at work in the world. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Ephesians 4:5-6; Philippians 2:9-11; Colossians 2:9; 1 John 5:7)

Man, His Fall, and Redemption.  Man who is triune; spirit, soul and body, was created good, upright, and in the image and likeness of God, and voluntarily transgressed and fell.  Redemption for man is in Jesus Christ, The Son of God. (Genesis 1:26‑27, 3:1‑8; Romans 5:12‑21)

The Salvation of Man.  Man's only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ.  The shed blood of Jesus Christ, grace through faith, believing in the heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, and confessing with the mouth, provides salvation for all mankind.  (John 3:16; Romans 3:23-24; Romans 10:8‑10; Ephesians 2:8)

The Evidence of Salvation.  The Holy Spirit bears witness that we are God’s children who live a life that is holy and acceptable unto God. (Luke 10:27; Romans 8:16; Romans 12:1-2)

  • Faith and Works.  Salvation is by faith in Jesus Christ and not by works and He shall reward us by our works. (Matthew 16:27; Ephesians 2:8-9)
  • Baptism in Water.  All who have repented in their heart and truly believe in Christ should be baptized by submersion, which represents the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  This declares to the world that they have died and been raised with Jesus Christ in the newness of life. (Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:4; Colossians 2:10-13)
  • The Lord's Supper (Holy Communion).  The Lord’s Supper is the distinctive symbol of Christian worship instituted by the Lord on the eve of His death, symbolizing the broken body and shed blood of Jesus Christ as the covenant between God and man. (1 Corinthians 11:23-26)

Baptism with the Holy Spirit.

·         The Promise.  All believers should expect and earnestly seek the Baptism in the Holy Spirit, according to the command of our Lord Jesus Christ.  (Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4‑8; 2:38; 10:44‑46; 11:14‑16; 15:7‑9)

·         The Evidence. The primary evidence of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is the initial physical sign of speaking in tongues as the spirit gives utterance, followed by the manifestation of spiritual power in public testimony and service. (Acts 2:4; 10:44‑48; 19:6; 1 Corinthians 12; Galatians 5:22-25)

The Church.  The church is the body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of her “Great Commission.”  Each believer, born of the Spirit, is an integral part of the Body of Christ whose name is written in heaven. (Matthew 28:18-20; Roman 12:4-5; Ephesians 1:22-23; 2:19‑22; Hebrews 10:25; 12:23)

Blessed Hope.  Jesus will come again to gather all of His Saints unto Himself to reign with Him eternally. (John 14:1-6; 1 Corinthians 15:51‑58; 1 Thessalonians. 4:16‑17)

Millennial Reign of Christ. Our Lord Jesus Christ will return with His Saints from Heaven to rule and reign for one thousand years on earth as the Scriptures promised.  After this, there shall be a new heaven and a new earth. (Revelations 20:1-6)

Lake of Fire/Eternal Judgment.  Those who have not accepted the redemptive work of Jesus Christ will suffer eternal separation from God, which is eternal damnation.  (Revelations 20:10-15)

Abundant Life.

  • Spiritual.  Man must be born of the Spirit of God. (John 3:3-6; Romans 8:1-2)
  • Mental.  According to the Word of God, we have been given a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7; Romans 12:2, Isaiah 26:3)
  • Physical.  We have the promise of health and physical healing.  (Isaiah 53:4-5; 1 Peter 2:24)
  • Financial.  The foundation of our financial prosperity is based on our obedience to the Word of God, including giving tithes and offerings.  (Deuteronomy 28:1-14; Malachi 3:10-11; Luke 6:38; 2 Corinthians 9:6-10)
  • Social.  Our fellowship engenders love and good works among all mankind. (Psalm 133:1; Proverbs 3:4; Hebrews 10:24-25)
